Wildberry Estate...
Many of our team are surfers and fishermen spending the early hours of
every day in the sea, then to be called to their other
passion—growing grapes of the highest quality in the world famous
Margaret River wine region.
Winemaking all starts with the quality of the fruit. In 1969, Dr John
Gladstone (UCLA) identified the Margaret River region as the most
perfect place on earth to grow premium grapes. It is blessed with
generous winter rains and gravely soils with the benefit of cool ocean
breezes guarded by tall karri, jarrah and peppermint forests.
Being only a few kilometres inland from the Indian Ocean , and with
Geographe Bay just to our North East we are surrounded by water. This
has a maritime affect on our climatic conditions which in turn has a
stabilizing effect on our grapes as they grow and ripen. |
